Rolfing® Structural Integration Boulder

Rolfing Structural Integration is about the whole person, it is about Fascia and Feeling.

The sensation of moving from Weakness to Strength

The exhilaration of owning a new part of oneself , the immediate and simultaneous re-education of one’s being and action, the joy of self-empowerment,

Waking Up!

My goal is to help you discover more length, space and ease in your body, relieve pain and tension, improve range of motion, calm the nervous system and create balance in the body and mind.

The goal of Rolfing is to release the body from learned patterns of movement and tension that cause dysfunction and pain.

A key principle behind the work is that fascia tightens from chronic dysfunctional movement and imbalanced muscular tension, resulting in contracture. Over time, the tightened fascia becomes shortened with disorganized collagen, constricting muscle contraction and relaxation, and consequently constricting the movement across a given joint.

Rolfing is a hands-on treatment that is distinct from massage in its focus on releasing fascia—the soft tissue surrounding muscles—with the aims to improve postural alignment and reduce pain.

It is meant to produce long-term changes in the biomechanics of the body.

Rolfing Structural Integration can significantly improve your body's structure, posture and movement by releasing accumulated tensions and strains through a process involving soft tissue manipulation and movement education.

"Receiving the 10-series from Paula was tremendously beneficial for me. I was looking for bodywork that would help me understand and release several restrictions and conditioned patterns of movement that were troubling me in my yoga practice. As a long-term teacher and practitioner of yoga, Paula was able to understand the subtleties of the physical issues I was experiencing and frame the bodywork in the context of my yoga practice. Several months have passed since my completion of the 10-series . . . and there have been so many noticeable and positive changes in my body and my practice. I highly recommend Paula's work and the methodology of the 10-series!”.                                                                                                                             - Travis Ahlstrom

"The first time I met with Paula I told her of my 5 year ongoing shoulder pain. In the past I had received therapy, X rays and medicine with no results. I assumed it was something I'd just have to live with and needed to be cautious. Paula quickly found that my shoulder was pitching nerves from the lack of flexibility in my upper body caused by prolong tension and bad habits. She worked with me through the Rolfing program to find ways I could increase flexibility while she aligned my body to a healthy stance. I sleep better now and am more aware of my actions that could cause a flare up. I recommend anyone who wants to find balance within themselves and relief from chronic pain to work with Paula.
She is kind, patient and full of knowledge”.                                   - Kate Diana
